Interior Painters and Decorators in Bolton

Interior decorating for homes and businesses, prepared properly and finished cleanly.

Most of our work comes from people who have had a bad experience with the last decorator. Filler showing through, brush marks on the woodwork, or a job that ran two weeks over with no explanation.

We work differently. Every job gets a written fixed price before we start, an agreed finish date, and proper preparation, which is the part that decides whether a finish still looks right in five years.

Interior painting, wallpapering, woodwork and spray finishing, across Bolton and the surrounding towns.

What we cover

Interior painting

Walls, ceilings, woodwork and radiators. Furniture covered and floors protected every day, not just the first.

Wallpapering

Hanging, stripping and repapering, including feature walls and lining paper. We will tell you honestly if a wall needs skimming first.

Woodwork and trim

Skirting, architrave, doors, staircases and built-in units. Sanded back, filled and finished, not just painted over.

Spray finishing

Doors, kitchen units and large flat areas sprayed for a finish brushwork cannot match. Masked and sheeted properly.

Ceilings and coving

Ceilings, coving and cornice, including stain blocking and cracked plaster made good before painting.

Preparation and repair

Filling, sanding, caulking, damp and mould treatment, and stain blocking. The unglamorous part that everything else depends on.

Freshly painted living room

Inside your home

A typical job starts with everything being covered and moved, not shuffled to the middle of the room and forgotten. Surfaces get filled, sanded and caulked, and any damp or staining is treated before a brush comes out.

We will talk through sheen levels and colours before we start. Matt hides imperfections on older walls, eggshell wipes clean in a hallway with kids.

Most single rooms take one to two days. A full downstairs is usually four to five.

Offices, rentals and communal areas

We work for landlords, letting agents and businesses across Bolton, including void turnarounds between tenancies, office and retail interiors, and communal hallways and stairwells.

Commercial work is scheduled around you. Evenings and weekends where it keeps a business trading, and a realistic timetable for void properties.

One invoice, one point of contact, and the same preparation standard as a private home.

Newly decorated office interior

The bit nobody photographs

1. Protect

Floors sheeted, furniture covered and moved, sockets and switches masked. Every day, not just day one.

2. Repair

Cracks raked out and filled, holes made good, damp and mould treated, stains blocked so they do not bleed through.

3. Sand and caulk

Woodwork sanded back, gaps caulked, dust vacuumed rather than brushed around the room.

4. Prime and finish

Appropriate primer for the surface, then two full coats. Cut in by hand, no tape lines left behind.

What affects the price

We quote in person because the same size room can vary by hundreds of pounds depending on what is underneath. The main factors:

  • Condition of the surfaces, since filling and repairs take longer than painting
  • Number of coats, and whether you are going lighter or darker
  • Amount of woodwork, and whether it has been painted before
  • Ceiling height and access
  • Whether the room needs to stay usable while we work

Free quotes, no obligation

We will visit, measure up, and send a fixed written price within 48 hours. No deposit taken and nothing to pay until the job is signed off.

Common questions

How long does paint take to dry between coats?

Usually two to four hours for emulsion, longer for oil-based woodwork. We plan the day around it rather than rushing a second coat on.

Can we stay in the house while you work?

Yes, almost always. We work room by room and keep the rest of the house usable.

Do you paint radiators and pipework?

Yes, with the correct heat-resistant products. Standard emulsion on a radiator will yellow within months.

What if I change my mind about the colour?

Before we start, no problem at all. Once we have bought the paint there may be a cost, so we confirm colours in writing first.

Do you clear up afterwards?

Every day, not just at the end. Furniture back, floors hoovered, rubbish taken away.
